Favorite Subscriptions

Below are a few apps and sites that I think provide way more value than what they cost.

Examine

Any time I need to do a little research on something in the medical realm, my first stop is Examine.com. They provide nutritional analysis based on actual evidence from research. They also have an amazing newsletter that can be customized by interest and by how often you want to receive their newsletters.

They sometimes have sales for around $200.00 / year for their Examine+ subscription. They also have a one time fee for lifetime access, if you prefer going that route. There are also discounts for seniors and students as well as some options for researchers and libraries. It is on the pricy side for me, but it's my favorite subscription on the internet.

Dropout.tv

This isn't going to fit with 95% of what is on this website, but Dropout.tv is the most creative and funny TV network out there. It is filled with a variety of shows, many of which are improv. From top to bottom, everybody at Dropout is funny, creative, and kind.

Their two biggest hits so far are Gamechanger, and a group of hilarious people playing tabletop RPGs like D&D called Dimension 20. Gamechanger is sort of a gameshow where the rules are different every game. One time it was a "whodunnit" one time it was a game filled with mini-games where the contestants are trying to get 2nd place, and one time, it was an improv musical episode.

If you grew up loving Whose Line is it Anyway, then you will love a lot of the stuff on Dropout.

The yearly price is $60, but they do sometimes have some discounts.

Local Gym

The amount of stuff you get for a gym membership is wild. So many different machines, free weights, and even a shower if you're traveling or just need a place for a shower. Most of them are very affordable.

Local Library

In many places, you can get access to your local library for either free or for a very low cost. When you add in things like the Libby or Hoopla apps, you have an absurd amount of free (or low cost) content.
